Had read the plethora of reviews about this mug's fragility, but shrugged it off years ago with "Meh, I'm careful... Those people are stupid." Never dropped, never clinked into anything else, I always took the utmost of care when handling these mugs. Unfortunately, tonight one of them met its end. I was hand-washing with a nylon brush (the handle is soft rubber) and "POP!" I knew the sound immediately... a vacuum releasing. Sure enough, inside the mug were some really mean looking shards of glass. In the trash it goes... I now have a single Bodum looking sad all alone in the cabinet.
I'd love to recommend these as they truly are the best coffee mugs you'll ever use, but don't plan on getting more than a couple of years out of them before the inevitable happens.

Absolutely love these mugs. I use them all the time for tea. I get a lot of compliments about them. They are sturdier than they feel.

As with all Bodum glassware, high quality but inherently fragile so be sure to use extra care. The 10oz. size is fine but unfortuately the 2.5 OZ. are not as indicated but rather 5 oz. I'll keep it anyway but be advised.
