I purchased a Leviton LT112 digital plugin timer on 10/26/2010 from Amazon. The timer works fine, but the CR2016 Lithium battery was completely dead. When I asked for a new battery - I was told to send everything back (postage free) for a replacement. This meant, because I'M paralyzed, hiring someone to remove the timer, pack it up & send it back. A new battery would cost $2.45. Very poor customer relations.
Unfortunately they don't give a damn.

Bought this about 6 months ago. The battery died! This product recently had a recall in May 2011. Call Leviton @ 1-800-824-3005 and tell them you bought the product from Amazon and they will mail you a new one.

This timer is not entirely intuitive to program, but it is not bad, and it has an easy to understand display. It is also far quieter than a mechanical timer. Unfortunately, it uses a small battery to maintain the settings, and this battery failed in about 4 weeks.

Today I received email from Amazon saying that "Leviton MFG is seeking the return of certain products. These items contain a battery with reduced life. There is no safety concern associated with this product return." Unfortunately, the email from Amazon gives only the general Leviton website. Searching that site for "recall", "reduced battery life", or LT112 turns up nothing. Not a very effective recall effort by Leviton or Amazon.
